Faculty of Education came alive in summer: 100 participants, three programs, and hundreds of experiences

This year’s summer schools at the Faculty of Education welcomed a total of 100 participants, traditionally from China. Participants were divided into groups according to their interests and professional focus. English Language and Intercultural Communication programme attracted the most interest, followed by Creative Therapies in Education and Fine Arts Education.

During the month-long stay, students enjoyed not only an exceptional academic programme, but also a wide range of leisure activities. They visited Prague, Vienna, the Lednice-Valtice area, and Mikulov, as well as several places in Olomouc – they went to the Zoo, took a ride on the Morava River on Ololoď, tested their skills at the Laser Arena and the rope center, and enjoyed many other moments together, such as a barbecue in the rose garden or a bike trip to Poděbrady.

A big thank you belongs to our colleagues from the departments who prepared and run the individual programmes with great dedication, namely the Institute of Foreign Languages, Institute of Special Education Studies and the Department of Art Education. An invaluable role played the student buddies, taking great care of the foreign participants throughout the whole stay and helping them feel at home in Olomouc.

The summer schools thus again confirmed that Olomouc is a place where a high level of education is combined with a friendly atmosphere, cultural diversity, and unforgettable experiences.
