Better information on grant opportunities, methodological support for academic staff and doctoral students, invitations to professional events, and the sharing of interesting insights from the world of science and research—these are the primary goals of the new website for the Department of Science, Research, and Doctoral Studies at the Palacký University Olomouc Faculty of Education. The faculty’s science and research activities now also have their own profiles on Facebook and Instagram.
The new website features a clearer structure, up-to-date content, and modern functionalities designed to make navigation and access to important information easier for visitors. Academic staff, doctoral students, and other interested parties will find grant calls, invitations to professional and outreach events, information on the faculty’s research activities, and the latest news regarding science, research, and doctoral studies.
"The original website no longer met our current needs or the requirements for modern, effective communication. In collaboration with the Centre for Information and Educational Technologies, we therefore created a more user-friendly site offering current information, a dedicated section for event invitations, an interactive slider, and other new features. I believe it will become a practical and inspiring source of information not only for our academic community and doctoral students but also for the broader professional public," said Michaela Hřivnová, Vice-Dean for Science, Research, and Doctoral Studies at the Faculty of Education, Palacký University Olomouc.
Another significant new feature is the English version of the website, which makes information about the faculty’s scientific and research activities accessible to international students, academic staff, partner institutions, and others interested in international collaboration.
"The English version of the website will allow us to present the faculty’s results and activities to an international audience in a more systematic way. We will showcase our international projects, research centers, public outreach activities, and opportunities for the international academic community to get involved. Through this, we aim to further foster the faculty’s openness, its internationalization, and the development of new professional partnerships," the vice-dean added.
The updated website includes a new section dedicated to methodological support. The Department of Science, Research, and Doctoral Studies will continuously expand and update this section to respond flexibly to the needs of academic staff and doctoral students, providing them with practical assistance in the preparation and implementation of research, publication, and project activities.
New profiles on Facebook and Instagram expand the department’s communication channels while creating a space for the rapid sharing of current calls, invitations, achievements, and interesting updates. The aim is for these channels to serve not only as a source of information but also as an inspiring platform connecting the scientific community of the UP Faculty of Education with both the professional sphere and the general public.
